What better way to cap off your vigorous exercise or fitness session, than to take a little healthful relaxation – to pamper those muscles which have just been put through the ultimate test. Or, even if you haven't been exercising, you may just want to pamper yourself, treat yourself to some quality relaxation time. At 2B-Fit, we call it Relaxation Plus since we offer sauna plus Jacuzzi plus solarium plus massage.
 
Sauna

The health benefits of the sauna have been heralded around the world ever since the Finns built that first small, wooden stone-heated room into the side of a hill sometime around the 5th century. Over the centuries, the sauna evolved in many ways but, according to the experts, one basic fact remains – there is no better way to relax. A sauna session of 10-20 minutes at temperatures over 80 degrees centigrade induces total relaxation throughout the entire body, and is recommended after a vigorous workout. In addition, the sauna heat opens the pores and promotes sweating, which provide a comprehensive cleansing of the skin and sweat glands. And, since profuse sweating enhances the detoxifying capacity of the skin and flushes impurities from the body, many people find the 2B-Fit sauna, which is also open to the general public, extremely useful the "morning after" a different kind of "workout."
 

 
Jacuzzi

Hydrotherapy was first made available to the general public by Roy Jacuzzi, the first person to add a jet of massaging air to a standard bathtub in the early 1900s. Through the years, the benefits of hydrotherapy have literally transformed people to a better state of mind and body, and the name Jacuzzi has become the generic term for all whirlpool-type baths. Like the sauna, 2B-Fit Jacuzzi is another perfect way to relax after an exercise session. Just sit back and let our latest whirlpool technology provide the perfect combination of warmth, water and air which will relax, reduce stress, relieve aches and pains and even allow for a better sleep.

 
Solarium

The 2B-Fit Solarium, or tanning bed, is available for closely monitored sessions to everyone. While the primary reason to use a tanning bed is cosmetic, there are many other benefits. Because of the release of endorphins while tanning, it is common for people to tan simply because it makes them feel good and promotes a sense of well being. Also, tanning beds generate a large amount of heat, including infrared, which has deep penetrating action that can relieve minor muscle aches. People who use tanning beds for these reasons will often tan all year long, usually once or twice a week. Typically, a tanner should begin with 3 to 5 minute exposures, working toward the full 20 minute session over a period of 3 to 4 weeks.

 
Massage

While most people consider a professionally-administered body massage after a vigorous workout almost mandatory, an increasing number of research studies show massage reduces heart rate, lowers blood pressure, increases blood circulation and lymph flow, relaxes muscles, improves range of motion, increases endorphins for a state of well being, contributes to weight loss, expels dangerous toxins and rids cellulite from the body. Sounds like a lot. But, 2B-Fit's professionally-trained masseuse is experienced in all aspects of her profession, and specializes in therapeutic massages for relaxation, aromatherapy, weight loss and cellulite reduction. Sessions are available to the general public as well as club members.
